Ross Douglas brought a carefully shaped and engraved wooden Thor hammer pattern to the foundry. Experienced moulders and fettlers used it to create a detailed Aluminium replica.
Aluminium was chosen as a practical alternative to iron or steel; the finished hammer still weighed 13 kg. After polishing, it was described as sitting naturally in a forest setting.
